Daily Prayer
Most of the time I do not like to read my prayers daily. But I must confess since reading out of the prayer book, The Missio Dei Breviary, I have changed my mind. For one thing, I love the thoughts expressed to God in such beautiful language. Second, many times we read another's thoughts and our spirit immediately indentifiies and testifies with the author, bringing much needed peace to our day. I love the Missio Dei Breviary and plan to use it on a regular basis during my time alone with God each day. I want to give credit to my good friend Brad for pointing me in this direction. Also Pastor Paul Hill of Wheatland Mission for showing me that liturgy can be a good, no great thing! We humans are creatures of order and I am the master. I love things to be in concert and get very uncomfortable when "things" get out of synch. God is a God of order. Do we have to read our daily prayers to be "in synch" with God, certainly not, but The Missio Dei Breviary has helped me to connect with God in a real way!
